While wearing this item if you do not have darkvision you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 ft which allows you to see in dim light as if it were bright light and to see in darkness as if it were dim light - but in darkness you cannot see colour, only shades of grey. However, if you already have darkvision or gain it from another source then instead your darkvision is improved to now also work even in magical darkness.

Additionally, dim light beyond your darkvision range no longer gives disadvantage to Wisdom (Perception) checks.
