Weapon (dagger), very rare (requires attunement by a thinking on material wealth while holding the weapon.)

The Avariceblade, also known as the Dagger of Enriched Strikes, is a legendary weapon said to be created by the God of Riches and a cunning Kender cleric of finance. As the weapon passes from one owner to another, the tales of its ability to convert gold into extraordinary power continue to grow.

Properties:

When you attune to the Avariceblade, you gain the following ability:

Gilded Sacrifice: As a bonus action, you can sacrifice an amount of gold from your inventory to empower your next attack with the Avariceblade. For each amount of gold pieces sacrificed, the dagger's hit dice increases by one level, as described below:

  • Less than 100 gold pieces: 1d4+2.
  • 100 to 1,000 gold pieces: 4d6.
  • 1,000 to 10,000 gold pieces: 6d8.
  • 10,000 to 100,000 gold pieces: 8d10.
  • More than 100,000 gold pieces: 10d12.

The gold sacrificed in this way is permanently removed from your inventory, transferred to the realm of the God of Riches as an offering. While the increase in damage can be significant, wielders must carefully weigh the cost of diminishing their wealth.

Covetous Edge: Once per long rest, you can unleash the Temptation of Greed. Your Avariceblade's damage surges, reaching its peak potential. When rolling for damage during this time, you do so with advantage, maximizing the potential damage output. However, as you revel in the power of wealth, your actions become erratic and unpredictable, imposing disadvantage on Dexterity checks that involve precise movements or coordination.

Curse of Avarice: Once attuned to the Avariceblade, you find yourself gradually consumed by an insatiable desire for wealth. You become unwilling to part with your gold, refusing to spend or donate it willingly. Additionally, the Avariceblade exudes an aura of covetousness, making it challenging to conceal your true motives from others. Whenever you interact with NPCs or creatures who possess valuable items or gold, you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or be compelled to make attempts to acquire the wealth through persuasion, deception, or stealth, even if doing so goes against your better judgment or moral code.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
