Ring, artifact (requires attunement by a creature)

This mighty ring of the Old Elven Kings is an ethereal relic embedded with a radiant sapphire that shimmers with a chilling glow.

While wearing the ring, you get the following benefits:

  • You use an action to become invisible. This effect ends if you attack, cast a spell, or in the conditions specified by Invisibility.
  • While invisible, if you crit with Gil-galad's Edge, you summon the spectral forms of the Nine Kings (see a Wraith's stats). Each wields a spectral longsword that does an extra 1d8 force damage. They're under your command and remain for 1 minute or until you lose concentration as if you were concentrating on a spell.

The Nine Kings are the souls of powerful warriors of old, cursed to serve the ring's will.

Random Properties. The ring has the following properties.

  • 2 minor beneficial properties
  • 1 major beneficial property
  • 1 minor detrimental property

2 Set Bonus: Soverign's Dominance. While attuned, you can tap into the combined power of the set pieces. You can use an action to utter a command word and choose a number of creatures you see within 60ft of you, up to your Charisma modifier (min 1). Each target must make a DC 17 Wisdom save or be charmed by you for 1 minute. While charmed this way, the creature regards you as its trusted leader. The creature repeats the save at the end of its turn, ending the effect on a success.

3 Set Bonus: High King's Legacy. When attuned to all items from the High King set, you get the following benefits for 1 minute as an action:

  • Your Gil-galad's Edge transforms into a blazing longsword wreathed in blue and silver flames. The blade does an extra 2d6 fire damage on each hit.
  • Your AC increases by 3 as the Elendil's Royal Aegis shines with an ethereal, protective light.
  • While you're invisible due to Assel, The True Ring, your movement speed increases by 20ft, and you have advantage on attack rolls.

You regain the ability to activate this bonus at dawn.
