First, a series of lenses focus the light, helping regulate automatically the amount of light passing through, which then gets sent to a transmutation enchantment that transforms light into electric signals. This spellform mimics the retina's photosensors.
From there, the electric current passes through a secondary enchantment from the illusion school, allowing the eye to artificially imitate color. Then all those little signals get sent into the optic nerve through a couple of very intricate enchantments, which sends that information directly into your brain.
The result, an eye prosthetic allowing full use of all aspects and range of vision. The lenses ability to regulate light can be manually controlled, giving the eye prosthetic a zooming feature, so it can act like a monocular or magnifying glass, allowing you to see far away or enhance very close vision.
