This arrow has helped many an adventurer track their monstrous prey in the twisted caverns and mazes of the Undermountain. However, it is rarely used by an adventurer more than once, for they rarely survive the encounter which they sought.
You can use an action to fire this arrow from a bow, and utter the description or name of a creature you know. If the creature is within 1000 feet, the arrow will travel at towards it at a speed of 50-feet per round. The arrow of tracking leaves a glowing red trail in its path that remains visible for 1 minute. The arrow will choose the shortest open route to the creature. If no route exists it will choose the shortest blocked route, stopping and falling to the floor when it hits solid matter.
If the arrow reaches the target creature, it must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 2d8 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
