Weapon (greataxe), artifact (requires attunement)

Commissioned by Odin and forged by Thor, the Axe of Aegir was created to be a symbol of Aegir's power, and by extension, Odin's. However, Aegir's loyalty to Thor meant that when Thor tired of Odin's abuse and left Asgard to seek a new realm, Aegir joined him, though while Thor has grown and changed in Duterrum, Aegir is still as warlike as ever, which is evinced by the plethora of raider lords and viking kings that have owned the axe since, claiming its famed title as the Champions of Aegir.

The weapon has rarely ever truly been defeated, but only a handful of its owners have ever survived long enough to die of old age, and not a single one of those who did die of old age did so while still in the possession of the Axe. As a result, while the Axe of Aegir may be its official name, to scholars of its history, it is known as the Axe of Bloody Endings.

Magic Weapon

The Axe of Aegir is a magic weapon that grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. The axe also functions as a belt of storm giant strength, a dwarven thrower, and a sword of sharpness, though the dice-based perks are scaled with the size of the weapon.

The Axe of Aegir is capable of changing its shape to suit its user's whims. As an action, an attuned user can cause the Axe to take on a new shape, and its associated properties, including damage dice types.
