In his later years, Archmage Sahraddin Ali Al-Hazir created a host of magical implements to facilitate his efforts to catalogue every repository of arcane knowledge in the known world. The Arcane Itinerary is often regarded to be the most trivial, but Al-Hazir is known to have credited it with reducing the average time spent in a given city by an average of 25 percent.
The Arcane Itinerary appears as hardened leather scrollcase, dyed a rich indigo with intricate silver embossing in a complicated motif of arcane runes. When opened, the owner will find the case to be filled with fresh sheets of thick vellum. If the owner is presently within the boundaries of a city, town, or other settlement, and has remained within the boundaries for a long rest, the first sheet removed with always contain a detailed and accurate map of the settlement. The second and subsequent pages with contain a detailed schedule of events to conduct within the settlement. The Itinerary will attempt to adapt to the desires of its owner in creating the schedule - a cleric may find it includes daily meditation or worship at a local temple of their deity, while a rogue may find it scheduling meetings with a local fence, or a smuggler who is looking to sell a crate of contrabind poisons. It takes the Itinerary approximately 6 months and 10 settlements to fully anticipate its new owner's preferences - initially, the Itinerary will develop its schedule based on its previous owner's preferences, and then adjust over time to the new owner.
Sheets removed from the case will become blank after 8 hours outside the case. These sheets are high-quality vellum, but not suitable for transcribing arcane spellwork.
