Armor (plate), rare (requires attunement)

While wearing this armor, you have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed. In addition, whenever you start your turn underwater with 0 hit points, the armor causes you to rise 60 feet toward the surface. The armor is decorated with fish and shell motifs.

Arcane Absorption. When you take damage from a spell, you can use your reaction to gain resistance to that spell, charging the armor with a number of charges equal to the amount of damage resisted to a maximum of 20. While the armor has maximum charges, this feature is lost and it gains the Arcane Beam feature.

Arcane Beam. As an action you fire a 5-foot wide 20-foot long line of arcane energy from it's chestplate. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 20 force damage, or 10 force damage on a success. Once this feature has been used, it is lost and it regains it's Arcane Absorption feature.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
