While worn, this gas mask will protect against the negative effects from breathing harmful gases, such as the Fade.

Wearing this mask imposes disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) skill checks.

With a piece of flexible tubing leading from the thick goggled mask to a box strapped over one's shoulders, this cumbersome piece of equipment is as inconvenient as it is life saving.  A heavy cartridge of vegetable coal, hyposulfite and soda ash absorbs toxic materials from the air, allowing the user to breathe freely.
