Wondrous Item, rare

This jagged, translucent, gem has a rainbow hue to it that moves around almost as if it is a holographic picture. Some say these gems have a mind of their own, bringing people to the places that they most need to be... Or they are just completely random there are many conflicting studies on these admittedly rare gems.

You may use an action to break the gem, to target yourself and 5 additional creatures within 30 feet of yourself, to whisk them away, to anywhere other than where they are right then. Unwilling creatures must succeed on a DC 14 Charisma Saving throw in order to not be teleported. This is not a teleport spell and thus cannot be counter spelled.

Where you and the targeted creatures end up, is entirely up to the DM. I recommend rolling 3 D100 to determine where the creatures end up.

The first D100 will be a 50% chance to teleport the creatures to at least two different locations. The more extreme the roll, perhaps the more extreme the split is. You may do evens are not split and odds are, or vice versa, or a 50 or below splits them up, etc. I also recomend asking the players how they would like the 50/50 to work (odds/evens, above or below 50, etc...) in order to add to the randomness.

The second D100 will determine how far the creatures will be teleported. Again the specifics are up to the DM but a good starting point would be, the higher the number the farther they go (perhaps including another plane!) Another option is the closer they get to 50, the more beneficial the teleport is.

The third and final D100 will determine, where they go. I recommend making a table of sorts, or at least having some options prepared, based on your own world or setting. This can be 100 different places, or even just one every 5 or 10, again it is entirely up to the DM. The higher the number, maybe the better the teleport is, or maybe it is worse for them to roll higher, the randomness is the best part.
