Aermhar's Book of Efficient Disguise (Wondrous Item, Adventuring Gear, Common)
100gp, 5lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description:
Aermhar was said to be the magical actor that could portray any part given to him perfectly. When asked he answered that his only secret was the love and affection he got from his fans but little did they know this book was the main source of the beloved actor's fame. He once used his guarded secret to protect his city by disguising as the general of demons that once attacked his residing city and ordered a retreat. The demon attack was ultimately led to a failure and Aermhar who led their charge to defeat, was hailed as a hero. The current user of this book will be expected to be as magical of an actor as its previous owner.

Once Per Day (Disguise Self) (Recharges at Dawn)
1st-Level Illusion Ability
Activation Time: 1 Action
Range: Self
Activation Prerequisite: (Verbal, Somatic) To activate the book's effect the wearer must pose in a stylish manner and say, "I am as Magical as a star."
Duration: 1 Hour
Item Ability Description:
You make yourself--including your clothing, armor, weapons, and other belongings on your person--look different until the effect ends or until you use your Action to dismiss it. You can seem 1 foot shorter or taller and can appear thin, fat, or in between. You can't change your body type, so you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs. Otherwise, the extent of the illusion is up to you.

The changes wrought by this effect fail to hold up to physical inspection. For example, if you use this effect to add a hat to your outfit, objects pass through the hat, and anyone who touches it would feel nothing or would feel your head and hair. If you use this effect to appear thinner than you are, the hand of someone who reaches out to touch you would bump into you while it was seemingly still in midair.

To discern that you are disguised, a creature can use its Action to inspect your appearance and must succeed on an Intelligence (Investigation) Check against DC-13.
