Weapon (glaive), legendary (requires attunement by a evil aligned creature)

Apocalypse is a jagged bladed onyx scythe that gives a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it, and acts as an arcane focus. Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using this weapon, the target creature immediately dies and becomes a zombie under your control for the next 24 hours, after which it falls apart and dies. Additionally, this scythe has 10 charges that can be spent to cast the following:

  • Animate Dead (1-6 charges)
  • Contagion (3 charges)
  • Finger of Death (5 charges)

The DC to save against these spells is 17. Additionally, if the attuned creature is not proficient in glaives, it is still proficient in this weapon.

The scythe regains 2d6+4 charges at dusk.

Sentience. Apocalypse is a sentient chaotic evil weapon possessed by the soul of an old Lich with an Intelligence of 21, a Wisdom of 16, and a Charisma of 15. It has hearing and truesight out to a range of 300 feet.

The weapon can speak, read, and understand Common, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. Its voice is ethereal in nature and sounds like grinding bones. While you are attuned to it, Apocalypse also understands every language you know.

Personality. Apocalypse speaks with a manical tone, constantly sounding like a man on the bring of madness.

The scythes purpose is to rid the material plane of all life, and will go about any means to do so, constantly urging its wielder to kill more and more people, be it at random or specific. The longer the wielder takes to kill someone, the more agitated Apocalypse will become. Eventually choosing to unattune itself from its wielder and will teleport back to the crypt from whence it came.

Should the wielder gain its favor it will eventually share its darkvision and truesight with its wielder.

Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
