Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement)

An ebony black steel claw clutches a large amethyst, its nails locking the amulet in place, hanging from a long chain. It's ice cold when touched, almost freezing flesh on contact. When worn, you hear the screams of the Bitter Wildlands wherever you go, haunting you.

When attuned to this item, you have resistance to necrotic damage, attack rolls made against you from necromancy spells have disadvantage, and you have advantage on saving throws against necromancy spells.

Additionally, this amulet has 1d4-1 charges, regaining 1 charge each day. You can use these charges in the ways listed below:

- 1 charge: You cast Inflict Wounds as a level 3 spell without materials, and without expending a spell slot, using Charisma as your spellcasting modifier.

- 2 charges: You cast Speak with Dead as a level 3 spell without materials, and without expending a spell slot.

- 3 charges: You cast Animated Dead or Summon Undead as a level 3 spell without materials, and without expending a spell slot.

Finally, the speaker can cast the spell Resurrection once. If done in this way, the amulet is consumed in the casting of the spell in place of the components, being destroyed forever, you instantly die, and your body disintegrates into ash. You cannot be brought back to life by anything short of Divine Intervention or a Wish spell.

Cursed. This Amulet is heavily cursed by the god of sorrow Fovaris, the details of which can only be revealed if placed under the effect of the *Identify* spell. When a creature is cursed in this way, each time they are healed by magic, they must consume a hit die. If they have no hit dice to consume, their soul is put into the amulet, and their body is inhabitied by an avatar of Fovaris, changing their stat block to that of an *Abhorrent Overlord*, the amulet embedding itself between the two horns of the monster. The creature remains in the amulet until the *Abhorrent Overlord* is killed, and the amulet is cleansed under a hefty ritual by a powerful cleric or holy person (DM's discretion on what or who constitutes for this), or by powerful magic such as *Divine Intervention* or a *Wish* spell.
