Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a fallen legend.)

This item first appears as a Large boxy construct with a golden-bordered coffin sunken into the center. The construct as a whole weighs 1500 pounds, but can magically lighten it's load to 500 pounds for transportation means via anti-gravity engines inside two compartments on either side of the coffin. The coffin has a hidden pressure plate, which can be found with a successful DC 22 Intelligence (Investigation) check. Placing their palm on the coffin's pressure plate unlocks the lid to the coffin itself, allowing one Medium or smaller creature to fit snug inside. The coffin also sports a smal rectangular slit near the top, which allows for the pilot to see outside the coffin when needed.

The construct does not function when a live creature is placed inside the coffin, and instead functions once a dead creature has been placed inside, granted the creature has been dead for 7 days or less.

When a dead creature is placed in the coffin, it promptly locks shut and refuses to open, even by anti-magic means. The coffin will only open once someone the pilot trusts places their palm on the pressure plate for 30 seconds, to which the coffin opens and ejects the pilot. The following also happens upon the coffin's lid being closed:

  • The pilot is suddenly injected with pipes and servos, reviving them and granting them a permanent 1 to their hit points. They cannot gain or lose hit points by any means as a result.
  • The pilot gains full cover, and cannot be targeted by any attacks, including those from aoes.
  • The pilot gains darkvision up to 120 feet, and blindsight up to 30 feet.
  • The construct unfolds and stands, revealing it's weaponry.

The undying legend armor is a Large object with the following statistics:

Armor Class: 22

Hit Points: 500

Speed: 30 ft.

Damage Immunities: poison, psychic, necrotic

Damage Resistances: Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing from nonmagical attacks.

To be used as a vehicle, the apparatus requires one pilot. While the construct's coffin is closed, the compartment is airtight and watertight. The compartment also holds an infinite amount of air, as if the creature inside is affected by the Air Bubble spell.

The construct cannot function properly in water, and suffers half movement and has disadvantage on all checks and attack rolls whilst completely submerged underwater.

When the construct reaches 0 Hit Points, it shuts down and ejects the coffin from it's person. The coffin has 20 AC, 50 Hit Points, and resistance to all damage. The creature in the coffin also goes down to 0HP, but is automatically stabilized.

The pilot cannot use any of their attacks, spells or abilities whilst inside the construct, but they may use their action to perform one of the following abilities inside the construct per turn, or more if they possess the extra attack class feature:

Construct Actions

Claw
The Construct uses it's claw hand to make the following melee attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3d6 bludgeoning damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 18).
Gatling Gun (Reload 6, Misfire 1)

The Construct uses it's gatling gun to make the following ranged attack: +12 to hit, range 40/240, one target. Hit: 4d10 piercing damage.

Misfire: If this weapon misfires, someone outside the Construct must succeed a DC 8 Tinker's Tools check or cast Mending on the weapon to repair it. Nothing happens if this check is failed.

Reload: Reloading requires a full turn to accomplish, meaning no attacks can be performed whilst reloading.

Flamethrower (Recharge 5-6) The Construct releases a burst of flames from it's wrist mounted flamethrower in a 20 foot cone in front of it. Every creature in the flamethrower's range must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 6d8 fire damage on a successful save, or half as much on a successful one.
