While the orb is placed on a flat surface, the orb makes a 20-foot-radius sphere centered to the orb. Any creature or object outside the the sphere can not hear any sounds within it. Any creature or object entirely within the sphere can not hear any sounds made outside of it. The creatures or objects entirely inside the sphere is also immune to thunder and psychic damage. If the orb is moved from the flat surface, the sphere disappears, and the effects end.
