Armor (plate), very rare (requires attunement)

You have a +2 bonus to AC while wearing this armor.

Attunement. This armor feels considerably lighter than normal Plate armor. While attuned to this armor, you have a +5 bonus to initiative and you have a bonus to AC equal to your Dexterity modifier (maximum 2).

Your Strength score is increased to 20 while attuned to this armor. If your Strength score is already 20 or higher this effect does nothing.

While you are attuned to this armor and you are the target of an attack, before you know whether the attack hits, you can choose to use your reaction to cause your skin to harden into stone. This hardening of your skin gives you a +5 bonus to AC until the beginning of your next turn. You can use this feature twice per long rest.

Curse. This armor is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends its curse to you. Any time you take damage while wearing this armor or activate its effect, you must make a DC15 Constitution saving throw or begin to be turned to stone. At the beginning of each turn following a failed save and including the current turn, an attuned creature loses 5ft of movement speed per round as their body slowly begins turning to stone. During each of these turns, the creature may make another Constitution saving throw. If it successfully saves, the effect pauses, although the stone remains, keeping the creature at their new speed. If it fails, the loss of movement speed continues. Upon reaching 0ft movement speed, the creature is turned to stone and is subjected to the petrified condition. This effect lasts for 1 minute or until the creature is targeted by greater restoration or wish. Once the effect ends, the creatures skin is completely returned to flesh and they regain their full movement speed.

Any other effect that begins on the creature before they are subjected to the petrified condition, remains after the effect ends.

Dwarves, Deep Gnomes, Duergar, Earth Genasi, and Goliaths have advantage on these saving throws and only lose one level in the initiative order per round.

Warforged are immune to this effect.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
