Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement)

Arcanum Aegis is a magnificent, crystal-adorned tome, bound in shimmering, iridescent leather. Its pages seem to hold shifting constellations and arcane sigils that dance and flicker when touched. As a wizard's spellbook, it's a reservoir of boundless knowledge, but it also serves as a powerful artifact in its own right. Arcanum Aegis is said to have been created by an ancient council of wizards who sought to capture the essence of the stars and bind it within a spellbook. Legends claim that the book is a fragment of the heavens themselves, a testament to the insatiable thirst for knowledge and the power that can be harnessed from the cosmos.

  1. Eternal Codex: Arcanum Aegis grants its wielder the ability to cast any spell as an action (up to 5th level) they have recorded within its pages without expending a spell slot once per long rest. If it is a concentration spell the user must still maintain concentration. The book can hold an unlimited number of spells, as it connects to the very fabric of the multiverse.

  2. Resonant Barrier: Using a Bonus action, when held aloft, Arcanum Aegis creates a shimmering, protective barrier around the wielder, granting a +2 bonus to AC. Additionally, it offers advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects while active. This effect can be used once per long rest.

  3. Cosmic Infusion: The book resonates with the celestial realm, allowing the wielder to cast "Cometfall," a unique spell contained within its pages. Cometfall calls down a shower of celestial meteors to bombard a chosen area, dealing massive radiant damage.
