Weapon (greatsword), rare (requires attunement)

This shining silver greatsword grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it

Avarice was endowed with the fire breath of Baphernine, Prince of Suffering, an ancient red dragon, as a means to dissuade Lord Juthragg from finding Dumthil, the true Cinder Fang. This sword does an additional 2d6 fire damage and grants you the following abilities:

  • Resistance to fire damage.
  • You can use a bonus action to extend the range on a weapon attack made with this sword up to a range of 15 feet.
  • You can magically destroy 10 gold from your inventory to gain a flight speed of 60 feet for up to 1 minute.

Curse. This weapon is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. Until the curse is broken with a remove curse spell or similar magic, your alignment changes based on the following: Lawful Good becomes Neutral Good, Neutral Good becomes Chaotic Good, Chaotic Good becomes Chaotic Neutral, and Chaotic Neutral becomes Chaotic Evil. Each time you destroy 100 gold using the flight feature granted by the sword, your alignment changes again. Once you have surpassed Chaotic Evil, you lose all physical and mental autonomy, becoming an NPC controlled by the DM.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Damage: Fire, Set: Speed (Flying), Bonus: Magic, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
