This magic greatsword was forged in the depths of the abyss and empowered by the souls of legions of sacrificed demons, with the soul purpose of slaying powerful magic users. If the wielder of this blade is a spellcaster all attacks with it are made with disadvantage unless they are a demon or devil.
Dormant
The greatsword grants the following benefits in its dormant state:
- Anti-magic Nature. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, also while wielding this blade attacks against spellcaster are made with advantage, and spellcasters hit by this weapon have disadvantage on subsequent concentration checks.
- Anti-magic Counter. When the wielder of this blade would be affected by a spell they can use their reaction to attempt to nullify the spell. The wielder must roll a constitution check against the triggering creatures spellcasting ability check. If this roll succeeds by 5 or more the spell is redirected back toward the caster. This can be done a number equal to proficiency bonus times per day.
Awakened
When the spear reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- Anti-magic Affinity. The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2, and It also deals an additional 1d6 psychic damage on a hit. This additional damage is increased to 2d6 against spellcasters.
- Anti-magic Assault. The wielder of this blade can replace one of its attacks on its turn with an anti-magic attack against any lasting physical spell affect such as a wall of force or spike growth. The wielder makes an attack roll against the spell, the spells AC is 10 + the spell level + the casters spellcasting ability modifier, if the attack lands, the spell affect immediately ends. This attack has no affect on living creatures.
Exalted
When the greatsword reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:
- Anti-magic Mastery. The weapon’s bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3 and the extra psychic damage dealt by the weapon increases to 2d6 and 4d6 against spellcasters.
- Anti-magic Manipulation. The wielder of this blade also has full telekinetic control over it. As an action the wielder can concentrate on the blade, as though it were concentrating on a spell, and cause it to levitate for as long as concentration is held. This ability ignores the barbarians inability to concentrate on spells while raging. The levitating blade can be ridden with a flying (hover) speed of 60ft. The wielder can also use its reaction to summon the blade back to its hand as long as it is on the same plane. The blade takes the fastest possible route to the wielder traveling at a pace of 120ft. per round. If the blade passes through a creatures space the creature makes a DC 18 dexterity saving throw taking 4d6 slashing damage on a fail and half as much on a success.
Random properties. The Anti-magic Blade has the following random properties.
- 1 minor beneficial property
- 1 major beneficial property
- 1 minor detrimental property
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
