Someone foolishly attempted to alter this fine Sindrian Battlestave by grafting on a network of magically-attuned crystals. They succeeded in doing so, but unintentionally introduced a fatal flaw, allowing the energies of the Weave to occasionally leak through, with catastrophic effects.
Battlestave Engineering: You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. This weapon can also be used as a spell focus, and you gain proficiency with quarterstaffs when attuned to it.
Weave Instability: When using this staff as a spellcasting focus, any time you expend a spell slot to cast a spell that deals damage, you add an additional die of damage. Additionally, whenever the staff is used in this way, roll a D20. On the roll of a 1, the spell is instead cast as if it was centered on the caster (or targeting the caster in the case of single-target spells).
Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Versatile, Topple
