The animated sword is a sword that can control itself. Once you attack someone or something with it it will come to life and attack that same thing until the sword is destroyed or the item is killed or destroyed. It flies around and attacks twice a turn acting as its own being in battle. the person who owns it will roll for it on its turn.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
