This amulet is a sphere constructed of two hemispheres of walnut and ash wood. A small iron clasp holds the spheres together. When opened, the amulet serves as a magical gateway to a small pocket dimension that can hold a ranger's animal companion when it comes within 5 feet of the amulet. The animal is aware of the passage of time and can see the world outside of the amulet as if through a window. The animal ages, but does not require food or water while in this pocket dimension.
The ranger can release the animal companion to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the ranger as a bonus action. If the ranger's attunement to the amulet is ended, the animal companion is immediately released.
If the animal companion is reduced to 0 hp while within 100 feet of this amulet, the animal companion is immediately teleported into the amulet and stabilized. The stabilized animal companion may not be released again until after a long rest.
