Weapon (flail), very rare (requires attunement by a Deep Gnome's assistance or 6 hours of digging)

Sharpie is an enchanted, durable shovel which never dulls. It can be used as an Arcane Focus and a very effective Grapple if attuned, but is more notably a (Finesse/Thrown) Weapon and even more notably... it is a Shovel.

At first glance, Sharpie The Shovel is just a black bracer with a dimly glowing diamond as its centerpiece. A custom somatic or verbal spell chosen by the user will cause the Sharpie to shoot out of the diamond. In its expanded form, Sharpie is a small, all-black, blade-edged spade with hooked sides, atop a medium-length handle, linked to a chain that remains attached to the bracer on the user's arm. The same somatic or verbal spell can be used to collapse Sharpie back into the bracer's diamond. The chain's default length keeps it taut, but will extend up to 20 feet if thrown. Any sudden movement in the opposite direction will cause it to quickly retract back to its default length. However, if the user grabs the chain before pulling on it, it will remain at its extended length.

As a shovel: It increases digging speed by 30 ft in soft soil and 10 ft in firm soil

Once attuned, it can be used to cut through stone at a rate of 1 ft per action

As a weapon: Finesse (5 ft) / Thrown (20 ft), 1d6 Slashing or Bludgeoning

Once attuned, it deals an additional 1d6 Force (magic) plus your spellcasting ability modifier

As an Arcane Focus: Once attuned, whether in its expanded or collapsed form, Sharpie can be used as an arcane focus.

As a Grapple: Sharpie can be thrown so that its hooked edges latch onto any DM-approved object or surface. Careful! Sometimes it's difficult to unhook if it's pulled taut.

Once attuned, Sharpie can be thrown and magically lodged into any non-magical object, surface, or creature larger than 1 cubic foot for up to 5 minutes. Success is determined by a 1d20 plus your spellcasting ability modifier and if the distance it needs to travel is farther (in feet), it fails.

Any attempt to lodge it into a creature is 1d20 plus your spellcasting ability modifier, twice; once for the distance and once against the creature's AC. If lodged into the creature, it takes 1d12 Piercing damage plus your spellcasting modifier once per turn for the duration. The user can choose to expend a spell slot to add 1d12 per spell slot level to the damage. Any attempt by the creature to dislodge or control user's movement by pulling the chain first requires the user to choose an available spell slot. After you choose a spell slot, the creature attempts a Strength check against that spell save DC. If the creature succeeds, the spell slot is not spent. If the creature fails, Sharpie will remain lodged in the creature (and the user will remain in control of their own movement) until the user lets go of Sharpie's chain or until the creature succeeds on an upcoming turn, but the chosen spell slot is expended. Up to five other creatures have advantage on attack rolls against the affected creature for the duration.

If the bracer is removed, attunement is required again.

Proficiency with a flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
