Wondrous Item, rare

A weapon of Irish legend crafted out of Sessile Oak with a hardened iron core within its large knob. It is believed that Saint Nicolas himself blessed the Shillelagh so its large knob would always return to its secured iron-spiked mount.

Ranged: (100 feet)
Throwing the entire shillelagh: Requires ac
Strength Modifier to Hit with rolls 1 to 5 missing with dm's descrition on what happens and 6 to 13 will hit on the wooden side (2d6) while 14 or more will hit with the knob side (3d8)  (SIDE NOTE: It won't be able to return to your hand and requires the character to pick it back up and crits do no extra damage)

Hurling the large knob:

Due to the nature of its blessing, the shillelagh requires the wielders to make a religion check to empower the knob to release from its mount towards your desired target with a dm's descrition on whether the knob hit the desired target (3d8) action. On critical hits the wielder may choose another target to attempt to hit with that chaining if the wielder continuously rolls critical hits (no action needed). The large knob will be suspensed above the ground one foot behind the target after impact and can remain there with no action needed or using a bonus action the wielder can return the knob to its resting place. Side Note: no concentration is needed to keep the knob suspensed even after death of wielder (discussed more in etc) and any form of attempt to disrupt the suspension besides the willing wielder will be forced into a con save with a 2d6 on fail or half on suceeding.

Knob in suspension:

While in suspension on the wielders turn the same principles apply as in the hurling the large knob except that fact the knob is away from the rest of the shillelagh.

Shillelagh without knob:

Turns into almost a thrown spear with iron spikes requiring strength modifer to hit and dealing 3d6 normally with critical doing 3d6+2. Side Note, the wielder may return the knob to the rest of it after its been thrown (bonus action no roll needed)

Melee

Shillelagh with Knob:

Strength modifer to hit with 3d8 on a hit, crit 3d8+4. (Action)

Shillelagh without knob:

Either you can jab with the spikes (strength modifer to hit with 3d6 normal, crit 3d6+2 bonus action ) or strike with the wooden side (2d6 normal, 2d6+1 crit action)

Etc

-The shillelagh will NOT hurt anything while returning to its handle or while suspensed, unless it is attempted to be not suspended by an indidivual, target, enemy, etc.

-An arcana check into the weapon reveals pieces of its history along with its magic being "AncientIrishMagic" with a check over 15.

-On the chance of the wielders death any creature that has done more good than bad will be forced into a religion check within 50 x 50 x 10 feet with the highest role, roll off if needed, will be bound to the weapon, vice versa with its discovery

-The weapon may refuse to be wielded by the wielder if the indiviudal starts to do harmful/evil actions frequently, dm's descretion, with prolonged actions resulting in the weapon choosing a new wielder. An epic scene on its discovery/new owner happenes with saint nicholas telling the wielder this, MUST BE ALONE WITH DM NO OTHERS.
