Animal Messenger

This item produces an effect like the spells scroll "Animal Messenger," only re-flavored. This item requires a verbal component: demand the Tiny beast to deliver a message to someone you name, and in which Tiny beast form. You can cast this item without "Animal Messenger" on your spell list, with no spell-casting DC. 

When its message is delivered, the item petrifies back into wood and can be cast again by the recipient in reply. If the recipient does not take an action, this item returns to the author.

This item has 1 hit point. Harm to its wooden form is there too in its animal form.
