Wondrous Item, artifact

A clear glass jar filled to the brim with ashes, the ashes of what is most vile in this world, pure wickedness. One can almost hear the whispers, or is it screams that hum from the inside of the glass? The jar is cold to the touch, almost as if it were filled with snow.

Dark Remembrance: At level 5. Once per day, while meditating with this jar you can use it to gain insights into specific malevolent rituals, secrets, or hidden locations within a 120ft radius. You must meditate for 10 minutes to activate this ability.

Eldritch Reflection: At level 8. Once per day, the jar can be used to reflect and manipulate eldritch energy. When you are targeted by a spell or magical effect, you can use a reaction to invoke the jar. You have a 50% chance to redirect the spell or negative effect.

Infernal Resurgence: At level 10. Once per long rest. The ashes grant you a surge of infernal power. When you fall below half your hit points you can use this jar to regain 3d8 hit points as a reaction. Once you use this ability, you roll at disadvantage for any future Charisma checks or saves until you complete a long rest.

The Embodiment of Evil - At level 20. Once per day, Opening the jar will surround the user in dark ash for 1 minute, swirling and convulsing forming an armor around the user. One half of the shifting ash expanding and forming a shadow of a smiling man in a fedora and a black suit, the other half smooth against the skin with shifting patterns and runes forming a shadow of a frowning woman in a long black dress. Two halves becoming one, a true unholy monstrosity.

  • Not wearing armor makes your base AC 15 + your Dexterity modifier.
  • Whenever you interact with undead, you have advantage on all Charisma checks. In addition, you are immune to poison damage, diseases, exhaustion, as well as the frightened and poisoned conditions.
  •  At the end of each of your turns, if you or a party member killed one or more creatures whose CR is greater than 1, you or someone of your choice regains hit points equal to your Warlock level. If doing so would grant the receiver more hit points than they can have, they will gain temporary hit points equal to the amount of excess hit points received.

The jar repairs/refills itself once a day exactly at midnight.

Notes: Created by a most grievous act, binding the souls of the wicked inside.
