This longbow belonged to my Great Great Grandfather, Auron. While his village was being attacked by a giant monstrosity, he made a pact with Asmodeus to help him defeat the creature. Asmodeus answered Auron's pleas and gave him 2 gifts, the knowledge of how to defeat the creatures of the world and an enchanted longbow. This longbow has been passed down by the men of my family for generations and after the death of my father it has become mine.
As a Bonus action, you can recite the demonic prayer to activate one of the demonic runes inscribed on the handle of the bow, doing so will ignite an arrow with demonic fire. While an arrow is ignited, You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. This will only last until the shot is taken, at which point, the prayer will need to be recited again before another rune will activate.
Ignited arrows cause the target to be set ablaze by demonic fire. This fire causes 1d8 fire damage at the beginning of each of the target's turns until a successful DC 14 CON Save. This fire damage is doubled with a successful critical strike.
The bow has 3 demonic runes inscribed on the handle. Igniting an arrow consumes one of the runic charges. Runic charges are regained after a long rest.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
