Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)
This jade chessboard has 1 rook, 2 knights, and 1 bishop on it, and all of them are made of solid platinum. A creature can use an action to throw one piece off the chessboard. It becomes a creature specific to the piece thrown, remains for 1 hour or until it drops to 0 hit points, and does not reappear as a piece. Each one reappears at a time specific to it and obeys its thrower.
A rook becomes an iron golem and reappears on the chessboard after 7 days.
A bishop becomes a beholder and reappears on the chessboard after 5 days.
A knight becomes a 20th level fighter with the Champion archetype and the defense and dueling fighting styles and reappears on the chessboard after 48 hours.
