This lightweight elven blade is made of bright steel and has a hewn emerald in its pommel. The blade still carries residue from the powerful poison with which Abisyn coated it. Whenever you successfully hit with this weapon, you deal an extra 2d6 poison damage to your target. 

Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
