Weapon (rifle, hunting), legendary

Behold the Arcane Firestorm, a legendary relic forged in the mystical crucible of otherworldly craftsmanship—a machine of pure enchantment known to the ancients as the MG-42. This wondrous contraption is not merely a weapon; it is the embodiment of raw, thunderous power, a symphony of destruction conducted by the hands of those daring enough to wield it.

Crafted by eldritch artisans of a bygone ancient era, the Arcane Firestorm is adorned with intricate runes that hum with ancient magic. Its chrome finish, gleaming with an otherworldly grace, draw upon the very essence of the storm itself. When unleashed upon the battlefield, this enchanted machine gun becomes a tempest incarnate, spewing forth a hail of ethereal projectiles that rend the fabric of reality.

While wielding the Arcane Firestorm, as an action, you can make twenty attacks with +0 to hit, each dealing 2d10 magical force damage on a hit. The effects of critical hits are negated but the attack still automatically lands regardless of contesting AC. If the user would decide to use half of their movement to go prone and set up the weapon, they gain a +4 bonus to all attack rolls made with this weapon. If the attacker would undergo an effect that would allow them to make more than twenty attacks in a single turn, they may, but the gun overheats, decommissioning it until the user uses an action to cool the internal ported barrel. The user may make up to 60 attacks until Arcane Firestorm runs out of ammunition. For the weapon to be operable again, the user must then take an action to reload the gun, or a bonus action if there is an allied creature within 5 feet of them.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Slow
