Weapon (whip), rare (requires attunement by a by Spellcaster)

A core of jet set in a crystalline blade, curving slightly like a saber.  At rest, its length is similar to a standard rapier.  Glowing purple runes invoke its purpose and creation: "From stars and void, I reach out from my master; our heart sails the ephemeral seas to end disaster."

Used in its dormant state, it functions as a +1 sword.

Upon whispering the wake word, the blade will go slack, appearing as a shimmering whip. On a hit, the blade suddenly stiffens into a thin arcing blade extended by a shadowy form at the moment the whip cracks, and slackens immediately after.

This whip uses the player's spellcasting modifier for attack, has a 15 foot reach, +2 to hit. Damage: 1d8 piercing damage (magical).  Upon a Critical Success, the player rolls a d100: if the result is a multiple of 7, the player regains an expended spell slot night higher than 2nd level.

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
