Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement by a creature with a strength of 15 or more)

Frostmourne is a formidable greatsword with a blade encased in a sheath of ice and a hilt adorned with intricate skull motifs and glowing blue runes. Its presence chills the air, and it whispers ominously to those who wield it.

Icy Edge. Attacks with Frostmourne have +1 to attack rolls and damage, and deal an additional 2d6 cold damage, and the target's speed is reduced by 10 feet (maximum) until the start of your next turn.

Soul Drain. On a critical hit, the sword drains life force, healing the wielder for the total amount of cold damage dealt.

Manifest Undead. Once per day, the wielder can summon 6 CR (1 x CR6, 6 x CR1, etc) worth of undead under their control. The undead disappear after 1 hour or when destroyed.

Aura of Desolation. Enemies within 30 feet of the wielder have disadvantage on saving throws against cold damage and fear effects.

Heart of Winter. Once per long rest, the wielder can unleash a devastating blast of freezing energy in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 6d8 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Cursed. Frostmourne's whispers tempt the wielder towards darkness. When making decisions, the wielder may feel compelled to choose more ruthless or selfish options. After each long rest, the wielder must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or gain a point of corruption. Accumulating five points of corruption shifts the wielder's alignment one step towards evil. Corruption points can be removed through powerful cleansing rituals or spells like Remove Curse. Once 'Evil Aligned', each day at dawn, the wielder must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or lose a part of their soul to the sword, suffering a permanent -1 penalty to their Wisdom score. Greater Restoration will remove 1 penalty point, but the attunement can only be removed by a Wish spell.
