This skull, once belonging to a wise and jovial figure, carries with it the weight of memories and the essence of introspection. Attuning to Yorick's Lament allows the user to gain insights and a touch of the macabre.
Echoes of the Past. While attuned to Yorick's Lament, the user can spend 1 hour in quiet contemplation with the skull. At the end of this time, the user gains advantage on their next Intelligence (History) or Intelligence (Investigation) check.
Morbid Wisdom. Once per day, the attuned creature can ask Yorick's Lament a question related to events yet to unfold. The skull provides cryptic and enigmatic answers, granting advantage on one Wisdom (Insight) check or Wisdom saving throw within the next 24 hours.
Memento Mori. As an action, the user can present Yorick's Lament to a creature within 30 feet, forcing them to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 14) or become frightened for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.
Curse: Once attuned to Yorick's Lament, the attuned creature occasionally hears spectral whispers, causing disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing. Additionally, the user may find it challenging to let go of the skull, feeling a growing attachment to its morbid wisdom.
Notes: Advantage: History, Advantage: Investigation, Advantage: Insight, Disadvantage: Perception
