In the realm of Dungeons & Dragons, wielding the Longsword of Comrade Slaying brings remarkable effects. It adds a substantial +3 bonus to your attack roll and boosts your total damage by 20% after all calculations. When targeting a player character, the bonus to total damage rises impressively to 40%.
In the event of a potentially fatal hit against a player, a unique mechanic comes into play. Both players roll a d20, and the outcomes are as follows:
-
Nat 1 vs Nat 1: Both players are absorbed by the sword, transforming it into a formidable weapon. It now boasts a +9 attack bonus and a staggering 70% increase in total damage after all calculations. However, it loses the ability to harm player characters. The trapped players can communicate with the sword's wielder.
-
2-9 win: The sword takes on a life of its own, fatally stabbing the loser of the roll in the chest. The sword gains a +6 bonus to attack rolls and inflicts a bonus of 44% to total damage after all calculations. It loses the ability to harm players.
-
10-20 win: The sword is dropped, triggering a skirmish between both players for its possession (resolved by rolling a d4 until a winner emerges). The victorious player takes control of the attacks, and the defender must roll a 4 on a d20 to survive with 1 HP. Any other result leads to beheading. The sword now possesses a +7 bonus to attack and delivers a bonus of 65% to total damage after all calculations. It can no longer harm players.
-
Nat 20 vs Nat 20: The sword comes alive, radiating a spectacular glow before transforming into a wooden toy sword. Both players sense their souls connected through the sword. If one player dies or the wooden sword is destroyed, both players permanently die, and the wooden sword turns to ash. Additionally, both players receive a permanent +30% boost to their initial Ability Points.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
