Spell Storing. While you are holding the Aurilith Dagger, you may cast a melee spell cantrip (such as "Shocking Grasp" or "Produce Flame"). The dagger absorbs and holds the spell's energy, requiring you to maintain concentration on this spell, as if you were concentrating on the spell itself.
Spell Release (Melee). As an action, you can make a melee attack with the Aurilith Dagger. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 slashing damage, and the stored spell is released. If the stored spell involves a spell attack roll, the hit with the dagger counts as a successful spell attack. If the spell requires the target to make a saving throw, the target must do so against the spell's effects/damage.
Spell Release (Thrown). As an action, you may throw the Aurilith Dagger at a creature or (appropriate target) within its normal range (20/60 feet). Make a ranged weapon attack roll. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 piercing damage, and the stored spell is released. If the stored spell involves a spell attack roll, the hit with the dagger counts as a successful spell attack. If the spell requires the target to make a saving throw, the target must do so against the spell's effects/damage. If the attack misses, the spell's energy is lost.
Spell Retention. If you make a melee attack with the Aurilith Dagger and miss, you may retain concentration on the spell, allowing you to attempt to release the spell again on a subsequent turn (or when able to do so).
Losing Concentration. If your concentration is broken, the spell stored in the dagger dissipates harmlessly.
"Aurilith, a rare and mystical alloy, is the harmonious fusion of Mithril and Electrum. This unique blend combines the lightweight and supernatural strength of Mithril with the lustrous beauty and stability of Electrum. The alloy exudes a distinctive sheen, where the silvery-white brilliance of Mithril intertwines with the golden glow of Electrum, creating an ethereal and captivating appearance.
In texture, Aurilith is remarkably smooth and feels almost fluid to the touch, yet it retains an unyielding firmness characteristic of the finest metals. It is renowned for its ability to conduct magical energies, making it a prized material for crafting enchanted weapons and artifacts. Items made from Aurilith are not only aesthetically magnificent but are also imbued with enhanced magical affinity, often exhibiting amplified or unique enchantments.
Despite its enchanting properties, Aurilith is not inherently magical. Instead, it acts as a conduit, enhancing and channeling the magical abilities of its wielder. This makes it particularly favored among spellcasters and warriors who blend martial prowess with arcane skills.
The creation process of Aurilith is a closely guarded secret, known to only a few master smiths and enchanters. The precise method of combining Mithril and Electrum, ensuring the balance of properties from both metals, is a feat of both metallurgical and magical expertise. The rarity of both base metals further adds to Aurilith's value."
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
