Forged from the skull of Aegorath, a fierce green dragoness who met her end in a fateful encounter with a young and valiant Leonin. The Leonin, in a desperate struggle for survival, triumphed over the mighty dragoness, claiming her flesh for sustenance and her bones for a formidable weapon.
Over months of absorbing the magical essence present in the young Leonin's blood, the Aegorath's Cranium awakened to its latent power. In addition to the ability to detect invisible threats, the weapon possesses the unique ability to move on its own. When thrown, it can travel up to 20 feet per turn, magically returning to the Leonin's hand after completing its trajectory.
Properties:
-
Draconic Alertness: The Aegorath's Cranium grants advantage on initiative rolls. Additionally, you and any of your companions within 30 feet of you can't be surprised, except when incapacitated by something other than nonmagical sleep. The weapon magically awakens you and your companions within range if any of you are sleeping naturally when combat begins.
-
Voracious Return: When thrown, Aegorath's Cranium can move up to 20 feet per turn, magically returning to the Leonin's hand at the end of each turn.
Damage:
- When used as a whole, Aegorath's Cranium deals 1d12 + Strength modifier piercing damage.
- If broken, it inflicts 2d4 + Strength modifier piercing damage.
Legacy Potential: Aegorath's Cranium has the potential to merge with any weapon chosen by the Leonin in the future. This fusion imparts the bone weapon properties to any magical equipment found, combining its bone attributes with the magical abilities of the acquired gear.
Current State: In its current state, Aegorath's Cranium functions as a +2 weapon. However, the connection with the young Leonin is so profound that it remains inert and useless in the hands of any other character. Only the rightful heir, the Leonin who claimed the dragoness's bones, can unlock its true potential.
