This magic staff has definitely seen better days, and a lot of them. Etched all along its length are amusing notes about times its owners used it. It seems that this staff used to be a fully-powered Staff of Healing, but now it holds less energy, can’t cast its more advanced magics, works slowly, and comes with side effects.
The staff is a polished and well-worn stick of hickory. It is 5 feet long and has a deep purple gem as the finial, which gives off a sputtering light when its magic is used.
This staff has 6 charges. While holding it, you can take 1 minute to expend 1 charge from the staff to cast the Cure Wounds spell, using your own spellcasting modifier. When you do so, roll 1d4. On a 1, all the hair on the target’s head falls out (but can grow back as normal).
The staff regains 1d2 charges at dawn. If you expend the last charge, it has a 50% chance to lose all its magical properties. Honestly, that might happen any day now even if you don’t expend the last charge.
