Weapon (shortsword), rare

In blade form, this item looks like a Greek Xiphos with a Bronze Blade that emits Bright Light in a 12ft radius and Dim Light for another 6ft past the Bright Light (See Celestial Bronze) and a Bronze Pommel in the shape of a trident head. Hilt will change size to fit the wielder's hand. The blade will change size to fit the wielder's build, but will only go as short as 15 inches and as long as 20 inches. The total weight of the weapon is between 0.9kg and 1.8kg, the DM has final say on the weapon's weight and how it counts to encumbrance.

If you lose this weapon in any form (sword, capped pen, uncapped pen), you can use a free bonus action to call it back to you either to your hand or your pocket, if you possess a pocket.

Whenever you wish, you can remove the cap to transform it from pen form (capped) to sword form. You can then place the cap on the pommel to transform it to pen form (uncapped/writable).

If losing the item in any form is part of story progression, the DM can either delay or entirely prevent the item from returning to the player until they see fit.

Celestial Bronze - Evil aligned enemies will take an extra D6 damage plus normal shortsword damage.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
