Amulet of Memory

Crafted by the renowned mage and scholar Lyrian Wavebinder, a follower of the Windrunner deity from the Rothenian Plains. Lyrian was obsessed with capturing and preserving the fleeting moments of life and the ever-changing nature of memory. The amulet was first created in the Sapphire Sea, during a rare alignment of the stars known as the "Whispering Night." It's believed that the sapphire in the amulet was bathed in the sea's waters during this celestial event, granting it its unique properties. After Lyrian's mysterious disappearance at sea, the amulet was lost for centuries. It resurfaced in the bustling markets of Zobeck, where it exchanged hands among various adventurers, scholars, and collectors, each adding to its story. The Amulet of Memory is said to hold the key to unlocking forgotten secrets and lost lore within Midgard. It's especially sought after by historians, bards, and those who have lost something dear to them. There are whispers of a hidden chamber in the Ironcrag Mountains, where Lyrian supposedly stored his most treasured memories. Some believe that the Amulet of Memory is the key to accessing this hidden trove of knowledge and experiences.

This amulet is a locket of gold and silver, exquisitely engraved with two cresting waves encircling a large sapphire, set in a twisted loop design. The amulet has the power to preserve memories for later re-experience.

Abilities:

• Memory Preservation: Use an action and a command word to store up to 10 minutes of experiences. Shutting the locket stops the recording. Reopening and speaking the command word again overwrites the previous memory.
• Memory Reliving: Touch the locket to experience the stored memory. Breaking contact ends the experience early. You gain advantage on skill checks related to the stored memory.
• Gentle Repose: If you die while wearing the amulet, it casts the spell gentle repose on your body, preserving it. You can also store a memory at the moment of your death.

Attuning to the amulet removes any prior memories stored in it.
