This longbow is made entirely of a thick, thorn-riddled vine, with the exception of the hand grip. There is no visible string attached. Whenever someone takes this bow in hand, thorns protrude from the grip, stabbing the person's palm. The vine then contorts itself and wraps around the person's forearm and wrist, with the palm still harboring the anchoring thorns. Whenever the user wants to use this bow, it contorts back into its original shape, the string now visible, seemed to be made of flowing blood, but can be manipulated like a normal bowstring.
Curse. This weapon is cursed, upon contact, the curse attaches to the wielder. This bow will remain attached to the person until a remove curse or wish spell is used to remove the curse.
The user can use a bonus action to imbue their very life essence into this weapon. Choose any number of hit points to lose, and add that number to the damage role. Hit points lost this way reduce the users maximum hit points by half of that number. The additional damage is considered Necrotic.
Alternatively, the user can spend 5 hit points as a bonus action to form an arrow completely made of their life force. The arrow deals 1d8 Necrotic damage.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
