This amulet bears an engraving of a young wizard kissing the goddess Mystra and has a hunger for the weave itself. When you attune to this amulet you can feel it reaching out for bits of magic it can consume. Once per long rest you can use this amulet to cast Counterspell at 5th level, targeting a spell from a creature other than yourself, without consuming a spell slot. If this cast causes the spell to fail, then the spell is also consumed and the magic is stored in the amulet. The magic stored in the amulet has a spell level of the spell that was counter spelled which you instantly know (minimum of 1st level).
While any spell's magic is stored in the amulet you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of your spells.
You may choose to release the magic stored in the amulet and cast a Wizard spell of the stored magic's level or lower that you have prepared. When you release the magic stored in the amulet the spell does not require one of your spell slots to cast and is cast at the level of the magic stored in the amulet. Any magic in the amulet disappears on a long rest.
You can use the amulet as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells.
