Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a Cleric)

An amulet of gold, detailed with silver, brass, and rubies, the image depicted displays a set of brass scales holding an equal measure of silver and ruby. This can be used as a Holy Symbol for Clerics.

Dormant

The Amulet of the Dawn grants the following benefits in its dormant state:

  • Protection of Dawn. The wearer gains a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this amulet.
  • Divine Retribution. When the wearer is struck by an attack or damages a target, the attacker/target suffers 1d8 radiant or necrotic damage.

Awakened

When the Amulet of the Dawn reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:

  • Protection of Dawn. The bonus to AC from this amulet increases to a +2.
  • Divine Retribution. The damage from this ability increases to 2d8.
  • Equilibrium. The amulet has 3 charges. As an action, you may expend one charge to target one creature within 30 feet of yourself and focus divine energy at them. Roll a number of d8s equal to your Proficiency Bonus and add the rolls together. You gain temporary hit points equal to the total, and you either restore Hit Points to the targetted creature equal to that total or force the creature to make a Constitution Saving Throw. On a failed save, the creature takes Radiant Damage equal to the total, and on a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage (rounded down). The amulet regains all charges at dawn.

Exalted

When the Amulet of the Dawn reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:

  • You gain one additional attunement slot.
  • Protection of Dawn. The bonus to AC from this amulet increases to a +3. When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to have a blast of healing flame surround you. You regain 1 hit point and are lifted to your feet. Each enemy within 10 feet of you takes 2d6 fire damage or radiant damage (your choice). This property of the amulet can’t be used again until you finish a long rest.
  • Divine Retribution. The damage from this ability increases to 3d8.
  • Equilibrium. The amulet now has 6 charges, and can activate the effects of Scales of Revelation depending on which effect you choose.
  • Scales of Revelation. You may choose to activate this ability upon using Equilibrium, and gain the following effects until you take a short or long rest, or you use Equilibrium again:
    • Righteous Fury: If you use Equilibrium to deal damage to a creature, your strength is set to 22 and you gain a +3 to your attack rolls. You can deal additional radiant damage equal to the temporary hit points you have. You can grant an ally (including yourself) within 30 feet temporary hit points equal to half of the damage you deal.
    • Healers Soul: If you use Equilibrium to heal a creature, your wisdom is set to 22 and you gain a +3 to your spell attack rolls. When you heal a target, you grant them the AC bonus from this amulet until the start of your next turn. Your healing spells grant temporary hit points equal to 5 times the level of the spell slot used to both you and your target/s. Any creature that you perceive as an enemy within 20ft of you or your target/s must make a dexterity saving throw, taking radiant damage equal to the temporary hit points granted on a failed save, and half on a successful one.
