Weapon (greatsword), very rare

This sleek steel greatsword has the name of a creature written in scarlet light up its length. The handle is grooved, and there is a red lens that is embedded in the pommel.

A creature that attempts to unsheathe this weapon while not attuned to it takes 4d12 fire damage as the hilt suddenly becomes superheated as a defense mechanism and must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is forced to drop the sword.

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

As an action, you can speak a creature’s name into the sword and change the name written on the blade. That creature has disadvantage on saving throws against effects you cause, and the bonus to attack and damage rolls granted by the sword when attacking that creature increases to +5. You can only speak a creature’s name into the sword twice per day, and can’t do so again until the next dawn.

You can peer through the pommel lens as an action, whereupon it lights up with words and glowing lines. When you do, you unerringly determine whether the creature whose name is upon the blade has been within 90 feet of your location in the last 24 hours, and if they left, in what direction.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Debuff, Detection, Combat, Eyewear, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
