Once attuned, you have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this adamantine blade, however without a proper handle it may only be wielded one-handedly. Only one humanoid creature may be attuned to this item at a time, if used to deal a killing blow to another humanoid creature the wielder becomes attuned to it immediately.
Returning Weapon:
If the weapon is dropped or knocked out of the wielder’s hand, the you can recall the weapon to your hand as a bonus action. If the returning weapon has been picked up by another creature, that creature can maintain their hold on the weapon and prevent it from returning to you with a successful DC 17 Strength saving throw. If the weapon is ever farther than 30 feet away from the wielder and not recalled, or if the wielder attempts to throw it away, the blade will return to their hand after 1d20 hours.
CURSED:
Once attuned, you cannot un-attune to this blade without the use of a Remove Curse or Wish spell. Once unattuned, the wielder's max HP is restored to normal, but their current HP does not change from doing this.
ARCLIGHT DETONATION:
After attunement, for every killing blow to a humanoid creature dealt by this blade, it gains 1 charge and the wielder's max HP is reduced by 1. The blade starts with 0 charges.
Upon the wielder's death, either from being killed or when their max HP reaches 0, the Arclight Blade instantaneously detonates, expending all accrued charges. A sickly, pale blue, light is released from the blade as everything within a 1000ft radius sphere, centered on the blade, takes 1d100+50 Force Damage. The radius of the blast increases by 1000ft per charge expended, a creature within range may make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking only Half Damage on a successful save.
When this occurs, the wielder's own soul is burned away to fuel the blast, making their death permanent and any form of resurrection, short of the use of a Wish spell, impossible.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
