Arcane Core

A small orb shaped construct emanating arcane power.

The Core emits a dim light up to 10 feet while charged. The creator of this core can spend an action to use 1 charge per spell level to cast a known spell without expending one of their own spellslots. The core has charges up to the creators proficiency level. Charges are regained by feeding the core raw essence.

Alternatively, the core can be used to power any construct. As an action the creator may insert the core into any friendly construct to give it power. While the core is being used this way one charge is consumed per long rest. The construct can use the core to cast any of its creators known spells by also consuming charges from the core equal to the spells level. If the core runs out of charges the construct will become dormant after a number of minutes equal to the owners intelligence modifier until the core can be refilled with at least one charge.
