The Witchblade is a conscious, intelligent, and ancient weapon with supernatural origins. It is one of 13 mystical artifacts, of which nine have been revealed: the Witchblade, the Angelus, the Darkness, the Ember Stone, the Glacier Stone, the Rapture, the Blood Sword, the Spear of Destiny, and the Wheel of Shadows. The WItchblade was forged out of a one time union between the Angelus (Anima) and the Darkness (Animus), functioning as a universal balance in the fight of extreme good and evil. The weapon only bonds to women, as it is an animus requiring an anima to unlock its full potential. Its often very selective of whom it bonds with and put them through several trials over time to confirm its made the right choice.
The Witchblade can transform into any type of ranged or melee weapon the wielder desires. The Weapon form does the base damage plus 3 + Ability modifier + 1d8 fire, radiant, and necrotic per hit.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Advantage: Melee Attacks, Damage: Radiant, Damage: Fire, Damage: Necrotic, Advantage: Ranged Attacks, ( Can only be wielded by women, attuned by the wielder.), Combat, Shapechanging, Warding, Jewelry, Sentient, Versatile, Sap
fun fact, in the 23 or so episode anime of witchblade the clones based off the real deal could also be worn by men but only of a certain level of madness and or evil and it would drive them ******* bat shit insane and murderous, basically like a typical demon in dnd
Which is why with this variant I've made it's tied to a Warlock Subclass that is more or less based on the Live-Action series with parts of the comics added in.
