Description.
This longsword was not forged, instead carved the claw of a specific Void Dragon Wyrmling, "Rythyn Malacos, the Starkiller." Throughout history, Ars Arcanum has been known as a sort of "god-killing" weapon being one of the few vestiges that can damage any being, no matter their power. However, with as much power as it has, many powerful individuals have sought it out to further their agendas. The sealed power of Rythyn Malacos fractures outward — void-black cracks split along the blade's edge, bleeding darkness that was never meant to be held. The weapon no longer resembles a tool. It resembles a wound in the world.
Aura of Obscurity.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While you hold the drawn sword, it creates an aura in a 20 ft radius. You and allies within it have advantage on Stealth checks in dim light or darkness. Additionally, hostile creatures that start their turn within the aura must succeed on a DC (8 + prof. + Int/Wis/Cha) Wisdom save or be frightened of you until the start of their next turn. Creatures immune to the frightened condition are unaffected.
Null Void.
As a bonus action, you can activate this weapon's "Null Void" feature for a minute by expending one of the weapon's two charges (resetting on a long rest). When you attack a creature that is a celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, construct, or undead you can force them to make a DC (8 + prof. + Int/Wis/Cha) Charisma save. On a failure, they are affected by the "Mark of Malacos." This creature may repeat this save at the end of each of its turns. On success, the creature rids themselves of all the "Marks of Malacos" affecting them, dealing 2d6 per mark in void damage (to a maximum of 10d6).
Before you attack a creature afflicted with the "Mark of Malacos," you can choose to have advantage on all attack rolls against that creature for this turn or deal an extra 2d6 void damage against them upon each successful hit. You can affect an unlimited number of creatures with this ability, but only inflict upon a creature 5 marks at a time.
Starkiller's Edict.
All damage dealt by Ars Arcanum ignores resistances and immunities. Against creatures with the Legendary or Divine trait — gods, archdevils, demon lords, or any creature with legendary actions — the weapon deals an additional 2d10 void damage on each hit.
Once per long rest, when you reduce a Legendary or Divine creature to 0 hit points, you may invoke the Edict. The creature cannot use any feature, ability, or effect that would prevent its death — legendary resistances spent on death saves, death ward, or otherwise. It simply dies.
Void Unraveling.
As an action, once per long rest, you drive the blade into the ground or raise it skyward and release a pulse of void energy in a 30-foot radius centered on you. Each creature of your choice within range must make a DC (8 + prof. + Int/Wis/Cha) Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the creature is unraveled for 1 minute — losing access to one of the following of your choice: all damage resistances and immunities, all legendary actions and legendary resistances, or all innate spellcasting. The creature may repeat the Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Creatures that succeed on this saving throw are immune to Void Unraveling for 24 hours.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Cold, Requires attunement by a chosen champion of Sun'der, Damage, Combat, Warding, Versatile, Sap
