This blade is made entirely out of a magical silver that makes the weapon feel lighter and far more durable than normal. The guard of the blade is in the shape of a rose bud that has not yet bloomed. The hilt itself is covered in small thorns that make in uncomfortable to wield unless attuned. Once you are attuned you do not feel any discomfort while wielding it, instead feeling calm and at ease.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
In addition:
- When you hit a creature with it, you may expend a hit die. If you do so, you take 1 point of unpreventable necrotic damage that you subtract from your total maximum hit point as the rose thorns drink a small quantity of your blood, you cannot regain those hit point until you have taken a long rest. Finally you add your hit die roll +constitution modifier as extra magical piercing damage to the attack.
- On a critical hit you regain a spent hit die. You may spend that hit die immediately as if you spent it during a short rest.
- While wielding the blade, you may use an action to make a rose blossom, create a harmless sensory effect such as the smell of roses or fill a 5-foot square with falling rose petals as per the Druidcraft.
- Whenever you damage a creature that has less than half their hit points, you deal an additional 1d6 damage to them.
Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
