Weapon (longsword), artifact (requires attunement by a being worthy of the spirits favor)

The sword gives off a constant aura of light from the blade that perseveres through the darkest of nights. The pommel and cross-guard are made of conductive reinforced gold and inlaid with lapis lazuli. The grip is covered in perfectly polished gold dragon scales. The blade is made of living dragon bone.

Benefits received without attunement:

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

This weapon does additional 1d6 radiant damage on hit.

When you hit a dragon with this weapon, the dragon takes an extra 1d8 points of slashing damage. For the purpose of this weapon, "dragon" refers to any creature with the dragon type, including dragon turtles and wyverns and greatwyrms.

Benefits granted with attunement:

This weapon grants wielder +2 to strength to a max of 24

This weapon grants the user proficiency with longswords.

This weapon grants fire resistance.

This weapon does additional 2d6 radiant damage on hit.

When you hit a dragon with this weapon, the dragon takes an extra 2d8 points of slashing damage.

This weapon also grants wielder blindsight 60 ft., darkvision 120 ft., passive Perception 20.

Sentient Weapon:

The attunement creates a symbiotic bond between the wielder and the spirit residing in the sword. The sword may attempt to take control of the wielder at moment of its choosing.  Wielder must make a DC 20 Wisdom save to resist the sword's command.

Legendary Resistance (1/Day). If you fail a saving throw, this weapon can choose to succeed instead.

The sword is sentient and may provide hints or answer to current story line at its choosing. It may have its own agenda.

 

 

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
