Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

These intricate metal minds, crafted from gold to fit on the forearm and bicep, allows the wearer to store and retrieve health. The item has a maximum capacity based on its rarity. Once health is stored in the metal mind, it remains there until used.

Health Storage (Passive). As an action, you can activate the metal mind to begin storing health, requiring concentration as if concentrating on a spell. While storing health, you suffer 2 levels of exhaustion, which ends once you stop storing health. For every 2 hit points you store, 1 hit point is stored in the metal mind. You can store up to 6 hit points per hour (1 every 10 minutes). If you choose to store health while taking a long rest, you do not regain full hit points. Instead, you regain spell slots and abilities that refresh on a long rest, but must roll hit dice for health recovery, as if taking a short rest.

Health Retrieval (Bonus Action). As a bonus action, you can activate the metal mind to retrieve any amount of stored health. There is no limit to how much health you can retrieve at a time.

Metal Mind Limit. This version of the Gold Metal Mind can hold a maximum of 40 hit points.

Note - You must declare when you are using your metal mind to store or retrieve health. Filling the metal mind, especially the legendary version, is intended to be a significant and challenging endeavor.
